Who we are
Haych Consulting is operated by Jarrod Boyd Heathcote (ABN 79 406 450 328) in Victoria, Australia.
This policy explains how Haych Consulting handles personal information through this website and while providing consulting services. For a privacy request or complaint, use the contact form and put Privacy request in the subject line.
Information we collect
When you submit the website contact form, we collect your first and last name, email address, subject, website address, service interests and the details you provide about your challenge or opportunity. The form also asks for an optional business turnover range. If you choose to sign up for updates, we record that preference.
Squarespace and Google Analytics may collect technical and usage information when you visit the website, such as your IP address, browser or device details, the page you visited and how you use the site. Google Analytics is connected through Squarespace and helps us understand website traffic. It may use cookies or similar technologies. The website does not currently show a cookie banner. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect some website functions. Read the Squarespace Privacy Policy and Google’s information about sites using its services.
When providing consulting services, a client may authorise us to access its Shopify store. This can include viewing customer information, such as names, email addresses and order details, where needed for the agreed work. We use this information only for that client’s engagement and under our agreement with the client. We generally analyse it within the client’s Shopify store rather than downloading it. If a local copy is needed, we delete it after its initial use. Shopify Analytics is used separately for client work; it is not installed on the Haych website.
Please avoid including sensitive or confidential personal information in the contact form unless it is necessary for your enquiry.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess whether our services may be suitable, provide and manage consulting services, communicate with clients and maintain business records.
We do not currently send marketing or newsletter emails. If you choose the optional updates signup, we may use your email address for Haych updates in future. You can ask us to remove you from that list through the contact form.
How information is stored and shared
Contact form submissions are stored in Squarespace. Squarespace also emails the submitted details to our Google Workspace inbox. We use Squarespace and Google Workspace to operate the website, manage enquiries and communicate with clients.
We may also share information with service providers who help us run the business, with professional advisers, or when disclosure is required or authorised by law. We do not use customer personal information accessed through a client’s Shopify store for our own marketing or unrelated purposes. Read Shopify’s privacy information.
Squarespace, Google and Shopify may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. For information about their data handling, see the provider privacy links above.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
How long we keep information
We currently have no set deletion period for enquiries that do not become clients, so those records may be retained indefinitely in Squarespace and in email copies held in Google Workspace.
Information viewed in a client’s Shopify store remains in that client’s account. If we make a local copy for an agreed task, we delete it after its initial use, as described above.
Access, correction and complaints
You can use the contact form and put Privacy request in the subject line to ask what personal information we hold about you, request access to it, ask us to correct it, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.
We will review and respond to complaints within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our information-handling practices change. The latest version and its update date will appear on this page.
